| Jobs, etc.
| I've pumped gas, here and there; washed
dishes; sacked groceries; bussed tables; was a wrangler, taking
tourists on horseback rides; rented bicycles to tourists in several
State Parks; cooked pizzas''s; cleaned bathrooms; was a driver's
helper delivering Cokes; lumber yard worker; assistant manger
trainee for Value Giant stores; made business presentations to the
rich in order to get them to invest in a new business while I was in
high school and sold them on it (Commercial Computer
Services); run backhoe and numerous fork lifts; delivered `rented'
stereos and/or televisions and had to re-possess them (that
part was a bummer); tore down walls and laid bricks; used a jack
hammer; sold groceries; fixed flat tires; had numerous factory jobs;
was a FAA certified air traffic controller; Clerk typist (I
was then and still am a lousy speller!); Drill Sergeant (but
not for long!); and probably forgotten jobs that I have had..

| Redwoods
| I worked in the "tall timber" of
northern California as a `choker setter' (attaching cables to
fallen redwood trees and the other end of the cables to the back of
D-9 cats, to be dragged to a central location for loading onto
semis'.). That lasted 4 days! I got slapped twice by
trees that were being dragged and wound up in a stupor on my
backside wondering, "WA' HAPPEN'"! I have a tendency to be a
slow learner at times.... (heck! Most of the time!!!)
|
| Factory Trained
| I've been a "Factory Trained and
Certified" Yamaha motorcycle mechanic, and worked in a Yamaha shop.
The big repair job that I did, at that time, was customize my
750 Honda! It was honest work but I didn't really like
getting greasy every day!! I've ridden cross country from
Arkansas to California and back again, on a Honda! |
| College
| I had a term paper I'd turned in
(MS-305, Management, Concept and Analysis - course title)
used by the teacher, Col. Solomosey, to teach the officers in his
command about how to be a better leader. The title of the
paper was "What Kind Of Leader Are You?" That was his
favorite phrase when he was `dressing down' junior officers that had
messed up. |
| Fame
| I've had jobs that lasted almost a whole
day and others that have lasted over three years. Listed
above are some of my claims to fame and did not list all the job
types I've had nor the profession that I am now in.
